Avant Garde Show.
Wow! Tonight was a dream come true! I have been talking about doing a show in an art gallery foreva! It was exactly what I envisioned. I am so happy! We had a great turn out at The State Street Gallery. Beautiful art work in there, too. I can't even begin to express how amazing it was for me. I had been developing this concept and planning since Feb. To see my work on display in the window of the art gallery was so outta control.
When we did the fittings, I never had the girls in everything at once. So when they were in the window, that was the first time I saw it all together. Mz. Snow did an amazing job capturing the high fashion male look and energy I was going for. She knocked it out! A black crystal mustache is not easy to pull off, but she did it with ease. Natalie Mathe did a brilliant job with the ultra fem concept. She wore those flowers and killed the girly posing! I will post photos soon.
The prep was something else. It was incrediblely hot and I had to have the girls stand for makeup because of the weird set up. They were getting overheated and that is not good when you are trying to get adhesive to dry on the face. The makeup took twice as long as it should have based on that. I had to get creative. Natalie was a great sport. I used eyelash adhesive to get the base petals on her eye. Due to the heat, I had to blow dry her face. Natalie was great, she held the extra petals, held petals on her face, and laughed with me as I pointed a blow dryer at her eye. After we built a good strong base with the adhesive, I really tested Natalie's faith in me. I hot glued the rest of the petals to the base(which was on her face) The end result was superawesome. Although, ideally you would not be hot gluing a model's face. haha (Again, I'll post photos soon!)
When, I heard the CW was there to get some of the girl's on tv. I went into high gear. At the last second the girls and I were running up the stairs as I yelled,"Go, Go, Go!" haha It worked, Natalie got on and she said really sweet awesome things about me! Love her! Great little promoter.
Thanks to everyone who came out and showed support.
